Kyiv Introduced Hourly Electricity Schedules: Heating Restored in 3,500 Buildings

У Києві запровадили нові графіки електропостачання: в 3,500 будівель відновлено опалення.

Situation with Energy Supply in Kyiv

The situation with energy supply in Kyiv has stabilized by transitioning both banks to hourly electricity disconnection schedules. This was a response to the massive missile and drone attack by Russia that occurred on December 27. As of the morning of December 28, critical infrastructure has been restored, allowing for an improvement in the energy situation in the city.

Restoration of Heating Supply

On the evening of December 28, it was reported that heating supply has been restored for over 3,500 buildings. Petro Panteleev, the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, noted that the situation with heating supply is stabilizing.

He also emphasized that there remain several hundred buildings on the left bank of the capital for which heating supply is planned to be restored.

According to information from Panteleev, stabilization schedules for electricity disconnections are now in place on both banks of the capital. This allows for a reduction in the negative consequences of the recent attacks on Kyiv's energy infrastructure and ensures residents of the city more stable electricity and heating supply.

The situation with energy supply in Kyiv following the massive attacks underscores the importance of stability in the context of the military conflict. The implementation of hourly electricity disconnection schedules reflects local authorities' attempts to adapt to the challenges posed by intense bombardments of energy infrastructure. The restoration of heating supply for a significant number of buildings is also an important step in supporting the lives of residents during the winter season.
