Kyiv Restores Heat in Hospitals After Attacks: 18 Mobile Boilers in Operation

Київ забезпечує тепло в лікарнях після обстрілів: 18 мобільних котлів розпочали роботу.

Restoration of Heating in Kyiv Hospitals

Kyiv is restoring heating in hospitals following the rocket and drone attacks on January 9, 2023. Some medical facilities lost centralized heating due to damage to the energy infrastructure. In response, mobile boilers were urgently deployed to provide heating.

Currently, 18 autonomous units are connected in Kyiv, supplying heat to 13 hospitals in six districts of the city. Kyivteploenergo, with the support of the Belgian agency Enabel, has deployed a network of mobile boilers that allows for rapid response to the needs of the critical social sphere. A total of 69 mobile boilers with a capacity of up to 1800 kW are operational in the city.

Support for Critical Social Infrastructure

These measures are aimed at supporting hospitals, maternity homes, and social protection centers to ensure comfortable conditions for patients and medical personnel in challenging circumstances.

The restoration of heating in Kyiv hospitals is an important step towards ensuring the stability of medical services during the armed conflict. Mobile boilers allow for a swift response to changes in the energy situation, which is critically important for preserving the lives and health of patients. It also highlights the significance of international support in crisis situations, helping Ukraine adapt to new challenges.
