Kyiv After the Shelling: 648 Thousand Families Have Power, but the Networks Are Overloaded

Київ після обстрілів: 648 тисяч родин з електрикою, але мережі переб overloaded.

Situation with Electricity Supply in Kyiv

Kyiv, as a result of a massive shelling, has restored electricity supply for 648 thousand families, however, the situation in the city remains challenging. Low temperatures and overloaded power networks complicate the process. It is noted that 60 thousand households have power, but in the Left Bank, as well as in parts of the Pechersk and Holosiivskyi districts, emergency power outages are being implemented.

On the Right Bank of the capital, a power outage schedule is in effect. At the same time, 6 thousand apartment buildings remain without heating, which significantly worsens the conditions for residents in the cold season. DTEK reports that work is currently underway to eliminate local accidents that have occurred due to overloaded networks and frosts.

The mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko, appealed to the Kyiv residents, asking them, if possible, to leave the city due to the critical state of the infrastructure.

Challenges of the Energy Crisis

The situation remains tense, and the capital's residents continue to face challenges amid the energy crisis.

The current energy situation in Kyiv is the result of not only military actions but also natural conditions that complicate the restoration of infrastructure. Given the winter that has already arrived, the lack of heating and electricity may lead to serious social problems that require urgent solutions from local authorities and energy companies. The mayor's appeal to residents emphasizes the seriousness of the circumstances and the need for caution in the conditions of the energy crisis.
