One-Time Financial Support for Large Families in Kyiv
Approximately 12,500 large families in Kyiv will receive a one-time financial payment as part of the 'Care. Towards Kyiv Residents' program. The total funding allocated for 2026 is nearly 100 million hryvnias. Each eligible family will receive 7,500 hryvnias for every child under the age of six, meaning the aid will benefit over 13,000 children. This initiative reflects the city's ongoing commitment to supporting families during a period of national economic strain.
The payments are scheduled for the end of January to the beginning of February. Last year, similar payments were made for 10,000 children, indicating a consistent expansion of support for large families in the capital.
Eligibility Requirements for the Aid
To qualify for the assistance, families must meet the following mandatory conditions:
- Be raising three or more children;
- Be registered with the capital's social protection authorities;
- Be actual residents of Kyiv.
As explained by Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Maryna Honda, this program aims to support families with multiple children and improve their social security. The initiative is part of the capital government's broader efforts to enhance social conditions for large families and encourage birth rates in Ukraine. Given the growing number of aid recipients, the program may signal deeper societal shifts that require additional attention from state structures. It is important to note that such programs can help not only with material support but also in creating a favorable environment for raising children in the capital.
