In the 16th week of 2026, there were 9045 new cases of influenza, ARVI, and Covid-19 registered in Kyiv, which is 4.4% more than the previous week. The main increase in incidence is observed among children, with a total of 5329 cases, of which 3291 are schoolchildren. The incidence rate in the capital is 306.4 per 100 thousand population, which is 44.2% below the epidemic threshold.
Among adults, 3716 cases of illness have been recorded. At the same time, 14 people fell ill with Covid-19 during the week, including one child. However, the hospitalization rate decreased: 96 patients were admitted to hospitals during the week, of which 73 were children. No cases of coronavirus requiring inpatient treatment were recorded, and no fatalities were registered during the week.
Situation with morbidity
In the previous week, the incidence rate was 61.5% lower than the epidemic threshold. Thus, the morbidity situation in Kyiv continues to remain under control, despite a slight increase in cases of influenza, ARVI, and Covid-19.
The increase in incidence among children, especially schoolchildren, may indicate seasonal activity of respiratory viruses, which is characteristic of this time of year. It is important for parents and teachers to pay attention to the symptoms of illnesses and follow preventive measures to reduce the risk of further spread of infections.
