Kyiv remains without data on air quality: monitoring stations are offline due to shelling

Київ залишився без інформації про якість повітря: станції моніторингу не працюють через обстріли.

The situation with air quality in Kyiv

Kyiv has been left without data on air quality due to temporary failures in the operation of stationary monitoring points. Power outages caused by enemy shelling have led to the inaccessibility of information on the state of atmospheric air. In the event of a prolonged absence of electricity, air quality data may be missing.

Impact on transport and infrastructure

Since January 13, scheduled hourly power outages have been implemented in all regions of Ukraine. The reason for the introduction of restrictions was the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on energy facilities, which significantly affected the stability of electricity supply. In the capital, as a result of these attacks, the operation of all ground electric transport has been temporarily suspended on the Right Bank, which further complicates the situation for residents.

In response to changes in the transport infrastructure, dozens of duplicate bus routes have been launched to provide citizens with mobility. Currently, about 500 high-rise buildings in Kyiv are without heating, which may also negatively affect the living comfort of the city's residents.

The situation in Kyiv demonstrates significant challenges for the infrastructure and the functioning of the city in wartime. The absence of air quality data may pose health risks to residents, especially in the winter period, when heating and comfortable living conditions become critically important. Current measures, such as the launch of duplicate bus routes, indicate the authorities' attempts to maintain citizens' mobility in difficult conditions. At the same time, prolonged power outages may have negative consequences for social stability and the psychological state of the capital’s residents.
