Free Tours of Kyiv
The Kyiv City State Administration's Tourism and Promotion Department, in partnership with the Kyiv Tourism Development Centre, has organized four complimentary walking tours of the city. These tours are scheduled to take place from March 27th to March 29th. Participation is strictly by prior registration due to limited availability.
All tours will be conducted with the current martial law conditions in mind. In the event of an air raid alert, participants will be guided to the nearest shelters, the addresses of which are provided in the registration forms. This protocol is designed to ensure participant safety throughout the excursions.
Scheduled Tour Itineraries
The planned tours cover the following themes and times:
- Friday, March 27th, at 3:00 PM – 'Through the Alleys of Kyiv's Kudyavets' district.
- Saturday, March 28th, at 12:00 PM – 'Historical Kyiv'.
- Sunday, March 29th, at 12:00 PM – 'Along the Slopes of Pechersk'.
- Sunday, March 29th, at 2:00 PM – 'Nyvsky Sketches'.
Registration for the tours is mandatory, and a confirmation will be sent to participants' email addresses the day before the event. This initiative aims to promote Kyiv's tourist routes and provide residents and visitors with an opportunity to explore the city's history and cultural heritage free of charge. These tours represent a notable effort to maintain cultural life and civic engagement during a challenging period.
These excursions are part of the city government's broader efforts to revitalize tourist activity in the capital, a significant undertaking during wartime. With participant safety as the top priority, organizers have ensured plans for rapid access to shelters are in place. Such events can help foster a deeper interest in Kyiv's history and culture, while also improving the city's image as a resilient tourist destination.
In addition to the free walking tours, the city's vibrant cultural scene continues to thrive. For those interested in exploring more of what Kyiv has to offer, the upcoming events in the cultural calendar, featuring art, music, and theater, provide an excellent opportunity to experience the city's artistic spirit.
