Kyiv Launches Online Rebate Program for Solar Panels on Apartment Buildings

Київ запроваджує електронну програму для компенсації витрат на сонячні панелі для житлових будинків.

Online Applications Now Open for Solar Power Plant Rebates

Residents of Kyiv can now apply online for partial reimbursement of the cost of installing solar power stations on their apartment buildings. The application process is available through the Kyiv City Services Portal. This initiative offers compensation for up to 50% of the installation costs, with a maximum rebate of 600,000 Ukrainian hryvnias (UAH) per building. To simplify the process, the portal features an online calculator that allows users to quickly estimate their potential rebate amount.

Program Eligibility

The following entities are eligible to apply for this program:

  • Homeowners' associations (OSBB)
  • Housing construction cooperatives
  • Building managers and other forms of multi-apartment building administration

Valentyn Mondriivskyi, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), emphasized that the document submission process is designed to be fast and free of unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles.

In addition to the solar panel rebate, eligible homeowners' associations, housing cooperatives, and building managers in the region can also apply for a non-refundable grant of up to 300,000 hryvnias. This grant is intended for technical upgrades to help buildings function during blackouts. Eligible upgrades include equipment for:

  • Elevators
  • Pumping systems
  • Lighting
  • Internet infrastructure
  • Other critical systems essential for resident comfort

This program reflects the city's growing commitment to renewable energy development and improving energy efficiency in multi-unit residential buildings. Such initiatives are increasingly important for Ukraine's capital as it seeks to bolster energy resilience. By incentivizing investments in solar power and infrastructure modernization, Kyiv aims to promote sustainable development and enhance the quality of life for its residents, particularly in the face of frequent power disruptions.

In addition to the solar panel rebate program, the city is also addressing energy needs through another initiative. The recently launched funding for generators in apartment buildings aims to provide financial support for essential backup power systems. This complementary program highlights the city's commitment to enhancing energy resilience for residents. For more details on how to secure funding for generators, visit this article.
