Kyiv launches 72 points for tree disposal: where to take your tree after the holidays

Київ відкриває 72 пункти для утилізації новорічних дерев: куди відвезти ялинку після свят.

Disposal of coniferous trees in Kyiv

On January 2, 2023, 72 collection points for coniferous trees started operating in Kyiv for their disposal. This initiative is aimed at the ecological processing of Christmas trees and pines used during the New Year holidays. Last year, the capital's residents brought almost 9,000 coniferous trees for disposal, indicating the active participation of citizens in environmental conservation efforts.

This year, pines were sold in Kyiv at a price starting from 500 UAH per linear meter and Christmas trees from 750 UAH. The cost of coniferous compositions will range from 250 to 650 UAH. This indicates the demand for coniferous trees and the importance of their disposal after the celebrations.

Pavlo Ivanov, a representative of the communal services, noted that 'from the collection points, our communal workers send coniferous trees for ecological disposal.'

This emphasizes the city's commitment to caring for the environment and ensuring comfortable conditions for residents. The collection points are located in various districts of the capital, including:

  • Holosiivskyi District
  • Darnytskyi District
  • Desnyanskyi District
  • Dniprovskyi District
  • Obolonskyi District
  • Pecherskyi District
  • Podilsko District
  • Sviatoshynskyi District
  • Solomianskyi District
  • Shevchenkivskyi District
  • Forests for disposal

Thus, the residents of Kyiv have the opportunity to conveniently and safely dispose of their New Year trees, contributing to the preservation of the city's ecology.

Growing ecological awareness

This initiative not only promotes tree disposal but also raises public awareness about the importance of ecological practices. Given last year's statistics, the active participation of citizens in the disposal process indicates the growing ecological consciousness of Kyiv residents. The disposal of coniferous trees can reduce the negative impact on the environment and contribute to creating a cleaner and healthier city.
