Kyiv Launches Free Plumbing and Welding Courses: Eligibility Details

У Києві стартує програма безкоштовного навчання з сантехніки та зварювання: деталі для бажаючих.

Free Plumbing and Welding Training Programs in Kyiv

The city of Kyiv is now accepting applications for free plumbing and welding courses as part of the EdUP project. The training, which will last for three months, will be based at the Kyiv Professional College of Civil Engineering and is scheduled to begin in mid-February 2026. This initiative addresses a critical shortage of skilled tradespeople in Ukraine's post-war reconstruction and economy.

The courses are free of charge and open to all adult residents of Kyiv and visitors to the city. The program specifically prioritizes support for:

  • male veterans
  • female veterans
  • internally displaced persons (IDPs)
  • women interested in mastering technical trades

Instruction will be delivered in a hybrid format, with a strong emphasis on in-person, hands-on sessions in modern workshops to ensure participants gain practical skills.

Beyond vocational training, participants will receive psychological support and career development counseling. Graduates will be provided with their own set of professional tools and will learn business fundamentals, opening new avenues for their professional growth and potential self-employment.

Significance of the Project

This project represents a vital step in training qualified specialists in plumbing and welding, fields with high labor market demand. The special focus on supporting vulnerable groups, including veterans and internally displaced persons, demonstrates a commitment to ensuring equal access to professional education and enhancing these individuals' competitiveness in today's society.
