Increase in Compensation for Veterans with Disabilities
Kyiv plans to increase the partial compensation for the purchase of new cars for veterans with disabilities to 605 thousand hryvnias. Currently, this amount is 545 thousand hryvnias. This decision was made by the Kyiv City Council, which on December 4 amended the targeted program 'Support for Kyivans – Defenders and Defendresses', increasing funding for the next year.
In 2025, 48 veterans with disabilities of group I or II received compensation amounting to over 25 million hryvnias. Veterans with disabilities can also receive compensation of up to 100 thousand hryvnias for the retrofitting of their vehicles. Currently, there are about 100 thousand veterans registered in Kyiv and nearly 300 thousand family members of defenders.

Vitaliy Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv
Increasing compensation for cars for veterans with disabilities is an important step in supporting this category of citizens, highlighting the city authorities' commitment to social responsibility. This decision could positively impact the lives of veterans, providing them with greater independence and the opportunity to engage more actively in social life.
Considering the significant number of veterans in the city, such a program could become an important element of Kyiv's social policy in the years to come.
