Kyiv Drains Water from Heating Systems: Why This is a Standard Procedure

Київ позбавляється води з систем опалення: як це впливає на комфортні умови в оселях.

Water Draining Procedure in Kyiv

In Kyiv, a standard technical procedure for draining water from heating systems is carried out, which is a necessary measure to preserve infrastructure during frosts. This does not mean that there is a prolonged cessation of heat supply. It should be noted that the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) applies the draining of the heat carrier in cases of emergencies or shelling. Problems with heating arose after a massive attack on critical infrastructure, as a result of which about 6,000 high-rise buildings in the capital were temporarily left without heating.

Restoration Work and Calls from Authorities

City services continue restoration work around the clock. Andriy Vitrenko, a representative of the KCSA, urged citizens not to believe in the 'scares' spread on social networks, emphasizing that draining water is a preventive safety measure and not a death sentence for the heating season. He also noted that the enemy seeks to destabilize the country through fear and chaos.

In this regard, the authorities urge residents not to spread unverified messages from chats and anonymous channels, but to trust only official sources and information from district services. Citizens should document heating issues in their homes and areas, contact management companies, call city 'hotlines', and support their neighbors, especially elderly people, those living alone, and families of military personnel.

It is important to note that draining water from the heating system is part of a comprehensive approach to ensuring safety and stability in the face of modern challenges. The KCSA is actively working on restoring heat supply and supporting the population, especially in critical situations. The public also plays an important role in ensuring information security, so it is important to rely on verified information sources.
