Voting for naming the street after Andrii Parubiy

Users of the 'Kyiv Digital' application expressed their support for naming a street after the Hero of Ukraine Andrii Parubiy. The voting results showed that the majority of active residents support this initiative. A total of 53,500 users participated in the voting, of which 57% voted for naming the street, while 43% were against.

Andrii Parubiy, the former speaker of the parliament, was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine on October 1 by President Volodymyr Zelensky. The award was granted following his murder on August 30 in Lviv. A 52-year-old resident of Lviv, Mykhailo Tselnykov, has been detained on suspicion of murder.

Citizen Activity and Commemoration

It is worth noting that earlier a petition for a similar proposal did not gather the required number of votes at the end of October. The collection of signatures for the second petition was completed on December 28. This is reported by 'Glavkom'.

The initiative to name the street after Andrii Parubiy reflects the citizens' activity in matters of commemorating prominent individuals who had a significant impact on the history of the country. Despite the first petition not receiving support, the repeated attempt indicates a growing interest and desire of the community to preserve the memory of the Hero. This process may also become an important element in forming public consciousness and national identity in the context of modern challenges.
