Court Verdict in Child Pornography Production Case
A Kyiv court has sentenced a mother to 11 years in prison for producing child pornography featuring her own daughters, who were 8 and 10 years old at the time of the crimes. The woman photographed and filmed the abusive material at home and distributed it online for financial gain. Her underage godmother, who assisted in these acts, was also implicated in the case. Both women pleaded guilty in court.
According to the court's ruling, the mother was convicted under Article 301-1 of Ukraine's Criminal Code, which covers the production and distribution of child pornography, as well as coercing minors to participate in such acts. The underage accomplice received a 5-year prison sentence but was released on probation with a 2-year probationary period. The children have been removed from the family home and are now in the care of their fathers.
New Criminal Cases
In a separate case in Kyiv, a 57-year-old man is now on trial, accused of producing child pornography and sexually assaulting three girls aged 8 and 12. The man, who worked as a cash collector, committed his crimes in the Desnianskyi district of the capital. In a related development, law enforcement has also exposed a 48-year-old resident of Boryspil for similar offenses.
These cases highlight the severe and ongoing issue of child sexual exploitation in Ukraine. The country has been strengthening its legal response to such crimes in recent years. Authorities are taking active measures to protect children, including removing them from dangerous environments and placing them with relatives, which is a critical step for their safety and well-being.
