Detention of girls for provocative content
Kyiv police have held three girls accountable for provocative content on social media related to Russian music. The incident occurred as a result of monitoring the Internet, during which the girls who were listening to Russian music were identified.
Among those detained are a 21-year-old video content creator and her friends, aged 22 and 24. All the girls are residents of Kyiv. Law enforcement officers drafted protocols under article 173 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses – petty hooliganism.
Previous cases of accountability
This is not the first case of accountability for performing Russian songs. Earlier, a 20-year-old Kyiv resident was detained for performing Russian songs while in police uniform. Also, a 28-year-old blogger who pretended to be a cyber police officer was brought to administrative responsibility. These events indicate active actions by law enforcement agencies in combating content that may be perceived as provocative under current conditions.
This incident underscores the growing attention of Ukrainian law enforcement to content on social media, especially in the context of the war with Russia and national security.
The detention of girls for listening to Russian music may indicate a desire to ensure information security and prevent potential provocations that could threaten public order.
