Kyivstar Announces Tariff Changes
Mobile operator Kyivstar will raise the price of a number of tariff plans and additional services starting March 1. Subscribers will be notified of the changes via SMS. The old prices will remain in effect for a few more days, with the new rates taking effect at midnight. This price adjustment is a common industry practice in response to operational cost changes.
The increases will affect packages offering 300 minutes for calls to other networks and abroad, additional minutes for calls within Ukraine, as well as mobile internet packages for 5 GB and 15 GB. Price hikes will also apply to the VideoGo service and unlimited access to social networks and messengers. According to the Kyivstar press service, most additional packages will now cost 99 hryvnias for 4 weeks, up from the previous price of 70 hryvnias.
Options Available to Subscribers
Subscribers have the option to switch to a cheaper tariff or terminate their contract without penalty. A detailed list of the updated services and their new prices is published on the official website kyivstar.ua. It is advisable for customers to review these changes promptly to make an informed decision.
The Kyivstar tariff and service price increase reflects broader trends in the telecommunications market, where operators often must adjust prices in response to changing costs and market demands. Subscribers dissatisfied with the new terms can choose alternative tariffs or change service providers, highlighting the competitiveness of the sector. This may also signal other mobile operators to review their own pricing strategies within a shifting economic environment.
