Russian troops attacked Kyivvodokanal facilities on the night of September 17, resulting in partial water loss on the left bank and reduced pressure in some areas on the right bank. Similar disruptions had previously occurred after Russian strikes: in May, Kyiv fully restored its water supply after a mass strike. This was reported by Kyivvodokanal.
Water supply in Kyiv restored after the September 17 attack
Due to the Russian strike, the operation of some water supply infrastructure facilities had to be temporarily suspended. The most noticeable consequences were felt by residents of the left bank, where water supply was partially interrupted.
On the right bank, the situation was different: in some areas, water remained, but it was supplied at reduced pressure. Emergency crews began restoring operations of the facilities immediately after the attack.
«Currently, water supply in Kyiv is being provided in full volume, all enterprise facilities are operating normally,» the Kyivvodokanal reported.
The enterprise assures that it is currently operating as normal and providing water to all consumers in the capital. No additional water supply restrictions due to the consequences of the night attack have been announced.
The capital's water supply system depends on stable electricity supply for pump equipment. In March, due to power outages at Kyivvodokanal facilities, weak water pressure was already recorded in the Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Podilskyi districts.
What is known about the mass attack on Kyiv
On the night of September 17, Russia attacked the capital with ballistic missiles and drones. In the morning, strikes from reactive drones continued.
Damage was recorded in the Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts. According to the latest data, 16 people were injured as a result of the attack, including two children.
The air forces reported that during the attack on Ukraine, Russian troops used various types of missiles, strike drones, and other means of air assault. The main strike directions included Kyiv, Odesa, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Overall, hits from missiles and strike drones were recorded at 36 locations, and debris from downed targets fell in five other places.
After previous attacks, the city authorities increased preparations for possible prolonged disruptions in critical infrastructure operations. In particular, the city is creating reserves of water and food for the autumn-winter period.
