Kyiv Water Utility to Flush Pipes in Obolon, Causing Temporary Water Pressure Drop

У Київводоканалі планують профілактичні роботи в Оболоні, що призведе до зниження тиску води на короткий час.

Water Supply Network Flushing Scheduled for Kyiv's Obolon District

Kyivvodokanal, the city's water utility, has announced it will perform preventative flushing of the water supply network in Kyiv's Obolon district. The work is scheduled for the night of April 7-8, from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM. During this maintenance, residents should expect a drop in water pressure, which may temporarily affect supply. Such routine maintenance is common for municipal water systems to ensure water quality and system integrity.

Flushing the pipes is a critical procedure for maintaining water quality, and similar work was recently conducted in the same area on the night of April 1-2. This indicates a systematic approach to servicing the water infrastructure. After the flushing is complete, customers are advised to run their taps until the water runs clear and is free of any unusual odor.

Affected Areas and Guidance for Residents

According to information from the Kyivvodokanal press service, the flushing will impact the following streets:

  • Zoi Haidai Street
  • Ozerna Street
  • Pivnichna Street
  • Pryrichna Street
  • Bohatyrska Street
  • Heroiv Dnipra Street
  • Obolonskyi Avenue
  • Volodymyr Ivasiuk Avenue

Specifically, the work will affect sections of Obolonskyi Avenue (from building No. 1 to No. 15 and 2-24) and Volodymyr Ivasiuk Avenue (from No. 2 to No. 24). It will also impact Levka Lukianenka Street, Iordanska Street, Oleksandr Arkhypenko Street, Heroiv polku 'Azov' Street, Pryozerna Street, Luhova Street, and Obolonska Naberezhna Street.

These measures are part of the regular maintenance of the city's utility networks, designed to ensure a reliable and safe water supply for Kyiv's residents.

Preventative flushing of the water supply network is a vital step in safeguarding the safety and quality of water for residents. The regularity of such maintenance demonstrates the utility's commitment to improving water service conditions, despite the temporary inconvenience it may cause consumers during the work.

In addition to the upcoming maintenance on the water supply network, residents should stay informed about other ongoing infrastructure updates in the city. For instance, road closures for essential repairs were recently announced, which may also affect local traffic patterns. Keeping track of these developments will help residents manage their daily routines effectively.
