The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim recounted an interesting case related to the mobilization of the Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie's bodyguard. It turned out that even famous actors cannot avoid document checks at checkpoints if they do not meet the requirements.
«I emphasized at the meeting with the TCC that even if Angelina Jolie arrives at the checkpoint without the proper documents, the check must still be conducted. It's a pity that my words were taken literally,» Kim explained.
As a result, a Ukrainian man, who was mistaken for the actress's bodyguard, was stopped by TCC employees. During the check, it turned out that he was a reserve officer and had no grounds for a deferment from mobilization.
Unexpected discovery
It turned out that the man was just a driver in the actress's convoy, not her bodyguard. He also turned out to be preparing for service under mobilization and is a combat sambo trainer in Kropyvnytskyi.
Angelina Jolie visited Kherson, where she met with children and continued her work as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Ukrainian soldiers do not make exceptions even for global stars when it comes to mobilization. Indeed, the rules must be the same for everyone, without exceptions. Even the man who was mistakenly taken for Angelina Jolie's bodyguard underwent a check, which revealed his readiness for service. It is important to adhere to laws regardless of an individual's status or fame.
