Kirovohrad Region was hit by a missile-drone strike on February 6: what are the consequences

On February 6, Kirovohrad region was subjected to a massive missile-drone attack by the Russian Federation. As a result of the shelling, a warehouse of mineral fertilizers of a private enterprise was damaged, and a fire broke out at the site. During the strike, there were no employees on the territory. This is reported by Suspilne.

The warehouse manager, Serhiy Mykhailenko, reported that equipment and machinery of the enterprise were stored in the premises. The strike damaged the roof and walls of the building. According to him, the staff managed to evacuate, and calculations of damages are currently being made while eliminating the consequences of the attack.

Shelling of Kirovohrad Region on February 6: the first consequences

During the air raid alert, which lasted more than ten hours, there were a series of explosions in Kropyvnytskyi. Correspondents documented at least 20 explosions in the city. The first of them occurred at 4:35 a.m. after the alert was announced in the region.

The head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, Andriy Raikovych, reported damage to residential buildings and power lines in one of the communities of the Oleksandriia district, as well as a warehouse building in the Kropyvnytskyi district.

Russia's attack on the region: what is known

Due to the shelling, part of the settlements was left without electricity. Emergency teams of Kirovohradenegro promptly restored the electricity supply. Also, some sections of the railway network were powered down, causing delays in suburban trains.

The consequences of the attack include:

  • damage to the warehouse building with mineral fertilizers;
  • destruction of residential buildings;
  • breakdowns of power lines;
  • failures in the movement of suburban trains.

According to the Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from the evening of February 5 and in the morning of February 6, Russia attacked Ukraine with 328 drones and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as using Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles and guided aerial missiles X-59/69.
