In the city of Wuhu, located in Anhui Province, China, 110 robotic traffic agents have been put into operation to assist police with managing road traffic. Developed by a company under the Chery Group, these robots have completed testing and are now officially on duty. This project is being implemented in a city with a population of over 3.2 million, allowing for the potential scaling of this technology across the region. For context, Wuhu is a major industrial hub in eastern China, making it a fitting testing ground for such innovations.

The robots are designed to resemble Chinese traffic police officers and are mounted on specialized mobile platforms. Their responsibilities include:

  • delivering standard hand signals;
  • directing vehicle flow;
  • broadcasting reminders about traffic rules.

They handle repetitive, routine tasks while working alongside human officers. This initiative aims to boost the efficiency of urban traffic management.

Factory Automation and Military Robotics

Additionally, China has launched the world’s first fully automated factory for mass-producing humanoid robots, where a new robot rolls off the assembly line every 30 minutes. This facility has an annual capacity of up to 10,000 robots. Such advancements highlight the growing role of automation in various sectors, including road safety.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine, Commander of the Third Army Corps Andriy Biletsky has set a goal for his unit by 2026, reflecting a broader trend toward robotics in military forces. These developments underscore a global shift toward integrating cutting-edge technologies into multiple aspects of society.
