China Criticizes U.S. and Israeli Military Actions
A Chinese defense ministry spokesperson has condemned recent U.S. and Israeli military strikes against Iran, which were conducted without authorization from the United Nations Security Council. The official expressed serious concern over the U.S. actions, stating that the use of force is not a constructive method for resolving international disputes.
“We have consistently maintained that resorting to force is not the correct way to settle international disagreements,” he noted.
The spokesperson also highlighted ethical issues surrounding the use of artificial intelligence in military operations. He accused the United States of developing algorithms capable of making decisions to destroy targets without human involvement.
“Allowing algorithms to decide matters of life and death also creates a risk of technological escalation,” he added.
Military and Law Enforcement Applications of AI
The U.S. military has confirmed it uses artificial intelligence algorithms to identify targets during airstrikes in the Middle East. Meanwhile, in Germany, AI is being deployed to combat organized crime, including:
- money laundering
- financial fraud
- drug trafficking
This growing use of advanced technology in both military and law enforcement spheres is raising increasing questions about ethics and safety. The divergent applications underscore a global debate on the governance of powerful new tools.
The situation highlights rising tensions among major powers, where military actions lacking international legitimacy cause concern within the global community. Concurrently, the discussion on the ethical aspects of using AI in warfare and policing points to a pressing need for international standards and norms to regulate these technologies and prevent potentially dangerous consequences for humanity.
