Humanoid Robot Fuxi to Be Showcased by NORINCO

News of the teleoperated humanoid robot Fuxi broke on August 24 at 16:31, with the Beijing World Robot Conference 2026 set to host its official introduction by Chinese company NORINCO. The robot offers real-time remote control, allowing an operator to carry out tasks from a distance without being physically present. Fuxi is built for reconnaissance, patrol, and hazardous-environment operations where a person on the ground could face serious risk.

By copying the operator's movements, Fuxi achieves high task precision. Its control system blends remote commands with onboard autonomy, enabling the machine to handle unpredictable conditions and adapt to changing circumstances. NORINCO describes the robot as an external avatar, pointing to fresh possibilities in robotics.

Fuxi's Technical Details and Capabilities

Standing at full adult height, Fuxi weighs approximately 90 kilograms. It includes observation features such as human recognition and can raise an alert if unusual activity is detected. NORINCO has also developed a formation mode that lets multiple Fuxi units collaborate, boosting the effectiveness of joint operations.

At the conference, the company plans to stage a night-time urban inspection involving several Fuxi robots working in concert. The units will coordinate their actions, assess their surroundings, and respond to any changes they identify.

The Beijing World Robot Conference 2026 will serve as the launchpad for 68 products from 18 NORINCO divisions, including:

  • robotic and intelligent systems,
  • a walking-assistance exoskeleton,
  • unmanned aerial vehicles,
  • and a robotic service dog.
