Plenary Meeting of the Kyiv City Council

The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, convened a plenary meeting of the Kyiv City Council on January 15 to discuss the issues of the city’s operation under emergency conditions and the allocation of additional funding for the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Acting Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Petro Panteleev, emphasized the importance of these matters in the current circumstances.

Main Issues for Discussion

Among the main issues planned for discussion will be:

  • how Kyiv functions and provides for the city's viability under emergency conditions;
  • the issue of allocating additional funding from the capital’s budget.

Klitschko noted that it is important to listen to the proposals of deputies regarding their assistance to residents in the areas and buildings where the most acute problems currently exist.

It is worth noting that all homes in Kyiv that were without electricity have been reconnected to the energy system. However, in certain localities of the Kyiv region, electricity supply is still lacking, and the situation in Brovary and Boryspil districts remains complicated. The city's targeted program 'Defender of Kyiv' will also be discussed at the meeting, confirming the city authority's efforts to support the functioning of the capital.

The plenary meeting of the Kyiv City Council aims not only to discuss pressing issues of the capital's viability but also to find ways to support the military during wartime. This underscores the importance of cooperation between the city authorities and deputies, as well as the necessity for prompt responses to community needs.

The situation with electricity supply in the Kyiv region, which remains complicated, indicates the ongoing challenges faced by the region and the need for further support from local authorities.
