North Korea Opens Memorial Museum for Foreign Combat Operations

North Korea has inaugurated a Memorial Museum of Combat Feats in Foreign Military Operations, featuring military equipment that Russia claims to have seized during its war against Ukraine. The ceremony was attended by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov. The museum is dedicated to the role of North Korean troops in combat actions in Russia's Kursk region.

  • Marder infantry fighting vehicles
  • AMX-10RC armored cars
  • VAB armored personnel carriers
  • Turkish-made Kirpi vehicles

Units of the Korean People's Army were involved in establishing the museum. Notably, on February 14, 2026, Kim Jong-un personally visited the construction site.

Additionally, Russia and North Korea have agreed on a new defense pact that will remain in effect until 2031. Senior Russian officials, including Andrei Belousov and the head of the State Duma, have previously traveled to Pyongyang for negotiations.
