The Book Country Festival

From September 17 to 20, the Book Country Festival will take place at the VDNH exhibition center. This season's main theme is "Mysterious." Over its two-year history, the festival has drawn more than 270,000 visitors, highlighting its strong appeal among literature enthusiasts.

The previous edition, a four-day event, attracted over 71,000 attendees. It featured more than 500 events, with around 200 publishers, bookstores, independent authors, and charitable organizations presenting their books. The festival's centerpiece will be a book fair, bringing together roughly a hundred publishers, bookstores, and independent authors.

Book Bloggers Award

The organizers are highlighting the Book Bloggers Award, underscoring the role of modern media in promoting literature. Applications to participate in the festival are open until July 31.

“We want to talk about literature as a space where anything is possible. The focus will be on stories that make you believe in incredible love, magic, and coincidences that spark something big and important. Also on superpowers—not just fantastical ones, but deeply human ones: courage, self-belief, and the ability to never give up.” — Diana Sukhomlynova

The Book Country Festival continues to grow and evolve, offering visitors a variety of activities. Guests can look forward to:

  • book presentations
  • meetings with authors
  • autograph sessions
  • public discussions
  • workshops
  • interactive activities for the whole family, including a children's program

This festival promises to be a key event for anyone who loves literature and wants to immerse themselves in the world of books.

The Book Country Festival has become a significant cultural event in Ukraine, reflecting a growing public interest in literature and reading. The large number of participating publishers and authors underscores the relevance of literary works and their impact on society. The festival's continuation also signals support for the country's book industry, which is vital for fostering a reading culture.

As the literary scene flourishes, events like the upcoming Kult Kyieva festival in 2026 will further unite artists and authors from across Ukraine, showcasing diverse voices and creativity. Such gatherings not only celebrate literature but also foster connections among different cultural communities, enriching the overall experience for attendees.
