French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the transfer of additional fighters and missiles for air defense systems to Ukraine. According to Macron, Ukraine will receive new Mirage planes and Aster missiles in the coming days. For his part, Starmer reported the transfer of 5,000 multipurpose missiles to strengthen air defense.
During a meeting at the summit discussing Ukrainian security issues, the leaders agreed on the production of Ukrainian drones in the UK. A five-point action plan aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and pressuring Russia was also agreed upon.
'Today we stand with you stronger than ever, united for Ukraine and united with President Trump in calling for an end to hostilities now and for negotiations to start from the current line of conflict.'
Summit participants also agreed on the next steps regarding sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine in the future. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized that support for Ukraine is working and that sanctions indicate a commitment to establishing peace in the region.
As a result of the meeting, the aforementioned countries decided to enhance assistance to Ukraine by transferring modern military equipment and developing a joint action plan to support and enhance the country's security amid the escalation of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.
