Participants in the 'Coalition of the Resolute' are ready to supply Ukraine with long-range missiles. This was stated by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a virtual meeting of the coalition on September 4, 2025.
Starmer emphasized that Russian President Putin cannot be trusted due to his aggressive policy towards Ukraine. He noted the indiscriminate strikes on Kyiv, which have already caused significant damage to the walls of the British Council and the EU representation.
Germany's Plans
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced the arming of Ukraine: five new brigades of the Armed Forces, 480 infantry fighting vehicles, and a 20% annual increase in air defense capabilities. Germany also offers cooperation in the production of cruise missiles but will not send troops to Ukraine.
Tasks of the 'Coalition of the Resolute'
The Head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen identified three main tasks for the coalition: strengthening Ukraine, creating multinational forces under the support of the USA, and reinforcing Europe's defensive position.
The United Kingdom finances military aid to Ukraine from frozen Russian assets. In the last 50 days, Ukraine has received a significant amount of military equipment and weapons. This year, the UK has allocated 4.5 billion pounds in aid and provided a loan of 2.26 billion pounds.
