Mykhailo Kokan set a personal record but missed out on a medal at the World Championship 2025

Bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in hammer throw Mykhailo Kokan took fourth place at the World Championship 2025 in Tokyo. He started the competition from the qualifications, where he placed eighth and advanced to the final.


In the final, he showed a good result, managing to throw the hammer for 82.02 meters. However, he was 67 centimeters short of the bronze medal, which went to Bence Galash.


What happened in the hammer throw final at the World Championship 2025


The leaders were Ethan Katzberg, Merlin Gummel, and Bence Galash. Kokan demonstrated consistent results, improving them with each attempt, and in the fifth round, he broke his own personal record.


As a result, Katzberg won the gold, Gummel took silver, and Galash secured bronze. The Ukrainian finished in fourth place, behind the medalists.

Ukrainian athlete Mykhailo Kokan showed excellent results at the World Championship 2025 in hammer throw but still finished fourth. Behind him was a remarkable performance in the final, where he fought for the bronze medal until the end, but lacked a bit of luck. Despite this, Kokan's performance was impressive and he deserves to achieve such results on the international stage.
