Arrest in Lutsk
Law enforcement officers in Lutsk have apprehended a 46-year-old former employee of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC). The arrest on February 11 occurred as she was caught red-handed receiving an unlawful benefit of $10,000 from a conscript. The payment was for arranging the creation of medical documents containing a fictitious diagnosis to evade military service. Following her detention, the woman was notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This article carries a potential penalty of 3 to 8 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The investigation into the case is currently ongoing.
Similar incidents are not isolated to Lutsk. Recently in Kyiv, a 41-year-old man was detained for analogous activities. Military Ombudsman Olha Reshetilova has also emphasized the critical importance of combating corruption within the military service sphere.
