Former pro-Russian presenter to be tried for justifying Russia's aggression

A 35-year-old former presenter of sanctioned channels, who moved to YouTube, will be tried for justifying Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Prosecutors of the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office have submitted an indictment to the court. On his YouTube channel, which had over 203 thousand subscribers, he disseminated videos in which he justified Russia's actions during the invasion of Ukraine.



In the videos posted in 2023 – 2024, the blogger attempted to convince viewers that Russia is not an aggressor and even provided pro-Russian arguments regarding the invasion. Even when tragic events were unfolding before his eyes due to Russia's actions in Ukraine, he claimed that there was no war, calling it 'his'.



He was formally charged with justifying Russia's aggression against Ukraine in January 2025. For these charges, a prison sentence of five to eight years may be imposed along with the confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the case has been sent to court.



In summary, the former presenter of sanctioned channels, who published pro-Russian content on YouTube, will be tried for justifying Russia's aggression against Ukraine. This is yet another case that highlights the importance of not spreading misinformation and not justifying aggression against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of any country.
