Igor Kolomoisky's Appeal

The side of Igor Kolomoisky has filed an appeal against the decision of the High Court of London in the case against JSC CB 'PrivatBank' regarding the recovery of damages. This decision was made in case No. BL-2017-000665, which concerns the former owners of the bank, in particular Igor Kolomoisky and Gennadiy Bogolyubov.

The High Court of London ruled in favor of PrivatBank, confirming that Kolomoisky and Bogolyubov misappropriated about $2 billion from the bank. In December 2017, the court also made a decision regarding a worldwide asset freeze of these businessmen. The amount claimed by PrivatBank in this case was $2.5 billion, which included accrued interest.

Case Prospects

Lawyer Oleksandr Lysak noted that the appellate court will review all conclusions presented in the ruling of the first instance court. This indicates further developments surrounding the PrivatBank case and its former owners.

This appeal is an important stage in the prolonged legal battle between PrivatBank and its former owners, which may have significant implications for the financial sector in Ukraine. The outcome of this case could affect the reputation of the banking system and investors, and also determine the further steps of regulators in ensuring financial stability.
