Igor Kolomoisky's Comment on the Searches at Yulia Tymoshenko's Office
Igor Kolomoisky commented on the searches that took place at the office of Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the 'Batkivshchyna' faction. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) announced suspicions against her for offering illegal benefits to members of parliament. The searches at the 'Batkivshchyna' office took place around 21:00, during which investigative actions were carried out by 30 armed men. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the crime for which Tymoshenko is suspected corresponds to part 4 of article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Commenting on the situation, Kolomoisky noted that there is a question about the appropriateness of such actions. He expressed his surprise as to why so much fuss is made over 40 thousand hryvnias, emphasizing that 'an elderly woman was disturbed.' Kolomoisky also pointed out that Tymoshenko, who is 65 years old, could have more personal savings. He asked why law enforcement decided to 'show up' and announce suspicion against her.
