KП «Київпастранс» Shines at the European Tram Driving Championship
On September 19, in Warsaw, the tram drivers representing КП «Київпастранс», Nataliya Havrylenko and Andriy Bichev, secured an impressive sixth place at the TRAM-EM European Championship. This competition gathered 26 teams from across Europe, making the contest highly competitive. Notably, Andriy Bichev stood out by earning the top spot as the best male tram driver.
Competition Format and Highlights
The event challenged participants with two rounds encompassing eight demanding disciplines that tested skill and precision. In the first round, the Kyiv team delivered a remarkable performance, scoring 3,240 points and taking first place, leading their rivals by 180 points. The disciplines included:
- starting and stopping
- speed control
- stopping at a designated point
- tram bowling
- "Mannequin Mermaid" (assessing lateral clearance)
- perfect stopping
- reversing
- basketball
Tetyana Tarasko, acting General Director of КП «Київпастранс», praised the team, stating:
"We take great pride in our drivers who have demonstrated exceptional accuracy, professionalism, and teamwork on an international stage—qualities that define their everyday work. It is important for us that Kyivpastrans specialists showcased their expertise among the leading professionals in Europe's transport sector, representing Ukraine's capital with distinction."
