Dispute Erupts Between Singer and Journalist
Ukrainian singer Taras Topolia's team is attempting to have a YouTube interview he gave to journalist and blogger Marychka Dovbenko taken down. Dovbenko states she received a notification from the platform about a privacy violation complaint filed against the interview. Despite this, the journalist refuses to delete the video, explaining that Topolia's representatives issued an ultimatum demanding she remove ten specific segments from their conversation.
Artist's Team Accused of Intimidation and Legal Threats
During the interview, Topolia discussed how his ex-wife, Olena Topolia, blocked him following their divorce announcement, which was one of the topics covered. However, the artist's team is not only trying to block the interview but is also allegedly threatening the journalist. As Marychka Dovbenko noted,
"the artist's team is also threatening to block my channel, take me to court, and destroy my program and my reputation,"she said.
She emphasized that these threats were delivered as an ultimatum to force her to edit the content:
"I wasn't asked to delete parts; I was given an ultimatum. And not just one or two moments, but ten separate pieces,".
Dovbenko further reported that Taras Topolia's lawyer has threatened to ruin her program and her name. "Hello to the lawyer, hello to Taras Topolia. If any further pressure, blackmail, or threats against me continue, all threats have been recorded and will be published. I await an apology," the journalist stated. At the time of publication, neither Taras Topolia nor his team had commented on the incident.
