The editor-in-chief of 'kadroland' and consultant on personnel accounting and labor law, Lyudmila Smerdova, talked about what will happen to unused annual vacation days in 2025 for Ukrainian workers.

Smerdova emphasized that if an employee did not use their annual vacation in 2025, its provision must be accounted for in the vacation schedule for the next year.
Workers can receive monetary compensation for unused vacation days if they do not take a vacation, but only if its duration exceeds 24 calendar days per year.
The expert explained: 'It is important for the employee to use 24 days of vacation for rest. Money can be compensated only for the days that exceed this amount, provided there is a written request from the employee.'
