In Kyiv, the rules of the curfew have been updated, making them more adaptable to the real needs of the city's residents. The decision was made by the Kyiv Defense Council. The restrictions remain in place, however, the list of allowed exceptions has been clearly expanded. This is reported by Visit Ukraine.
It is not about canceling the night restrictions but about the possibility of moving legally in defined situations. In particular, it is allowed to get home or to the Points of Indestructibility in cases where transportation arrives late at night.
Curfew in Kyiv: What is Allowed at Night
During the curfew, residents of the city can move on foot or by private transport, including taxis, if it is necessary for a safe return home or to seek help. These exceptions are introduced considering the disruptions in transport and the complicated energy situation.
In fact, during the night, it is allowed to:
- return home after a delay of a train or other transport;
- reach a place with heat, light, and communication;
- receive basic assistance in specially designated locations.
Points of Indestructibility and Document Requirements
The working mode of the Points of Indestructibility has been clarified separately. They can operate around the clock. This applies to both communal facilities and businesses that are ready to provide people with electricity, heat, water, communication, and hot beverages. The city authorities emphasize that these points must actually work, not just exist formally, and their availability is regularly checked.
At the same time, safety requirements remain unchanged. When being on the streets at night, it is necessary to have an identity document with you. For those liable for military service, a military registration document is also mandatory. Night patrolling in the city is being intensified.
Recall that the updated rules are designed to maintain a balance between security and the ability of Kyiv residents to move legally in critical situations under martial law conditions.
