Mykola Proskurskyi spoke about attempts by the senior military command to cease the activities of the International Legions of the Defense Forces, which include volunteers from various countries around the world who came to Ukraine to fight against Russian imperialism.
Due to a decrease in the number of fighters at the front owing to mobilization issues, the President of Ukraine called on all willing individuals to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This initiative led to the creation of International Legions within the Ground Forces, which have made a significant contribution to the defense of the country.
These Russian forces are attempting to discredit the International Legions, portraying them as mercenaries and criminals. In response, the command transferred these legions to the newly formed Assault Forces, which may worsen the situation regarding the influx of foreign volunteers.
It is necessary to maintain and improve the system of working with foreign volunteers to enhance the effectiveness of the country's defense.
As a result of the President of Ukraine's initiative regarding the International Legions, Assault Forces have been established that carry out important tasks at the front. However, this initiative has faced opposition from Russian forces, which may threaten the integration of foreign volunteers into the fighters of the Ukrainian army.
