In Kropyvnytskyi, a decision was made to launch electronic tickets in public and private transportation. The automated fare collection system will operate in buses, trolleybuses, and minibuses, and the operator will be determined through a competition. This is reported by “Suspilne”.
Kropyvnytskyi public transport switches to electronic tickets
The executive committee of the city council approved key elements of the project:

the procedure and requirements for the functioning of the electronic system

technical parameters for the operation of validators

the competition committee to select the operator.
According to Serhiy Yakunin, the operator will install equipment, software, and service financial transactions. Funding will be exclusively private, without any costs from the city or state budget.
Transporters' opinion on the electronic ticket
At “Elektrotrans” Company, they support the decision but assume an increased need for conductors.
«Validators are about conscience, and we have to pay drivers and staff», — noted Valeriy Muzychuk.
In the regional association of transporters, they believe that the system may lead to an increase in fares, as the operating company will receive a percentage from each passenger.
In urban transport, they plan to install validators in 96 municipal and 170 private vehicles. The implementation depends on the results of the competition, and the exact date is not yet known.
