The situation at the state border of Ukraine
There is a temporary calm at the state border of Ukraine after the record loads of the past weekend. According to reports, a record passenger flow of 140 thousand crossings was recorded on Saturday, and 155 thousand on Sunday. Since the beginning of this week, queues are virtually non-existent, allowing passengers to cross the border without hindrance.
Predictions for the future
However, according to the representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko, it is expected that passenger traffic will begin to rise again over the weekend. A high passenger flow is also anticipated during the New Year and Christmas period, when mass departures to EU countries will start after the New Year. It is estimated that the end of the rush for crossing the border should be expected closer to January 10.
The situation at the border can affect travelers' plans, especially during the holiday season, when many people head abroad to celebrate the New Year and Christmas. Therefore, it is important for passengers to be prepared for possible queues and delays, considering the forecasts of increasing passenger traffic. This can impact the overall organization of trips and the planning of time for crossing the border.
