Ukrainian Pavlo Korostylov became the world champion in shooting in Cairo

Павло Коростилов завоював титул чемпіона світу з кульової стрільби в Каїрі.

On the final day of the world championship in shooting in Cairo, Ukrainian athlete Pavlo Korostylov became the winner. He won a gold medal in 25-meter centerfire pistol shooting. The Ukrainian was the best in both accuracy and speed of shooting, scoring a total of 584-29x points.



This victory for Pavlo was his third at this competition and twelfth at world championships overall. Previously, he had already stood on the podium in team shooting and other shooting events.



Ukraine ranked 10th in the overall medal tally at the European Youth Olympic Festival. Our athletes won 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals. This is the second most successful performance of the Ukrainian team in the entire history of participation in these competitions.



The most successful sport for Ukraine at the festival was judo, but athletes also received awards in other sports, including swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, gymnastics, and table tennis.



Ukrainian athletes continue to delight with their successes at international competitions, confirming the high level of training and professionalism. Just a few days after the sensational victory in Cairo and a successful performance at the European Youth Olympic Festival, they once again raised the flag of Ukraine to the high peak of winners, confirming their status as true champions.
