Corruption in the Ukrainian army is once again signing off on new dubious schemes. In Chernihiv and Zhytomyr regions, prosecutors discovered illegal allocations of funds in military units intended for additional payments to military personnel.

In Chernihiv region, a military unit along with three subordinates are accused of creating a fictitious logistical point, where funds were allocated for official tasks but were actually used for the repair of the commander's private property, resulting in losses exceeding 2 million hryvnias.
In Zhytomyr region, an official from a military unit has already received five years of imprisonment and a fine of over 600 thousand hryvnias for creating a scheme of illegal payments to military personnel who did not even perform combat tasks. The consequences of these corrupt actions can reach far and have long-lasting effects on the state of the Ukrainian army.
Similar cases of corruption in the armed forces constantly question public trust in the management of military structures and require immediate measures for their prevention and cessation.
