Sense Bank Sale Announced
Ukraine's Prime Minister, Serhiy Koretskyi, has said the process of selling Sense Bank will be accelerated, with the funds raised going toward the needs of the country's defense forces. He emphasized that the procedure must be open, competitive, and highly efficient, according to the government's priorities.
Finance Ministry Receives Clear Mandate
The Prime Minister has given the Ministry of Finance an explicit assignment to move forward with the sale. Alongside the National Bank, the ministry is expected to deal with the bank's long-standing issues and put in place transparent, sound corporate governance for Sense Bank.
This sale is part of a wider government strategy to bring in financial resources to bolster Ukraine's defensive capacity amid the protracted war. Making the process more open and competitive could also strengthen confidence in the country's financial system and attract future investors.
- Ensuring an open and transparent sale process
- Addressing unresolved problems within the bank
- Funding the nation's defense needs
The effective resolution of existing issues by both the Finance Ministry and the National Bank is seen as vital to maintaining the overall soundness of the banking sector.
