KP 'Zaporizhzhia Electric Transport' is preparing to protect the windows of city buses, trams, and trolleybuses with special film. The decision was made after a series of Russian attacks that damaged more than 12 units of municipal transport, and several drivers were injured. This is reported by Spravzhne citing the company's director Volodymyr Sukhov.
Protective film for Zaporizhzhia transport: what is planned to be purchased
The enterprise has selected three samples of film and conducted an internal check of their properties. Based on the chosen parameters, KP is preparing a tender for the purchase of protective materials.
The windows in the passenger compartments will be covered with one type of film. For the driver's cabin, a different material will be used: the windshield and side windows are to be protected.
According to Sukhov, several drivers were injured during the shelling. The injuries were minor, mostly shrapnel wounds due to shattered glass. The risk of injury from fragments was one of the reasons for enhancing the protection of transport.

Recently, as a result of Russian attacks, slightly more than 12 units of municipal transport were damaged. Most of the vehicles have already been restored, and another trolleybus is under repair.
One bus, following a recent drone attack, has been declared beyond repair by experts. It cannot be returned to service.
'After an analysis involving experts, it was determined that one bus is beyond repair. Unfortunately, we will not be able to put it back into service,' said the director of 'Zaporizhzhia Electric Transport.'
Safety of public transport in Zaporizhzhia: how drivers and passengers act
In the most dangerous areas of the city, including Shevchenkivskyi, Kosmichnyi, and Pivdennyi microdistricts, some stops have already been closed with anti-drone nets.
During air alerts, drivers at stops warn passengers about the danger and recommend exiting the vehicle and going to shelters. The KP aims to automate such announcements.
Information leaflets with a protocol of actions in case of threats from FPV drones are also being placed in the cabins.
It should be noted that in Zaporizhzhia, due to repair works, the movement of trolleybuses No. 8 and No. 14 has been temporarily restricted. They do not run on the section between the stops 'Bus Station' and 'Simferopol Highway', and passengers are transported according to modified schemes. The restriction came into effect at 5:00 AM on August 3rd.
