The Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Vadim Skibitsky, reported that the Russian Federation plans to end the war in Ukraine by 2026. He noted that internal documents of the Kremlin clearly state that an answer to the 'Ukrainian question must be found by 2026.'
The Russian side indicated that the high costs of conducting the war pose a serious problem for their economy, and if the situation does not change, their reserves may be depleted even faster than expected. Preparations for military exercises are also slowing down due to limited resources in the country.
According to Vadim Skibitsky, prolonging the conflict could result in a loss of influence for Russia on the world stage, as well as additional problems for the country, such as a demographic crisis and dependence on oil prices. It was also noted that Belarus is monitoring developments, attempting to remain neutral in this conflict.
