Crimean Bridge: Occupants Strengthened Security Ahead of the New Year Holidays

Зміцнення заходів безпеки на Кримському мосту в очікуванні новорічних свят.

Strengthening Security Measures at the Crimean Bridge

Occupants have intensified security measures at the Crimean Bridge ahead of the New Year holidays by increasing the number of checkpoints and vehicle inspections. 212 additional checkpoints will be deployed on the bridge, allowing for the inspection of up to 17,520 vehicles per day. These measures are part of a strategy to ensure traffic safety, as stated by Andriy Nikitin.

It should be noted that since November 3, a ban on the movement of electric and hybrid vehicles across the Crimean Bridge has been introduced. This decision was made in the context of the worsening security situation. At the same time, the Crimean Bridge is in a state of emergency, which may also influence the decision to strengthen control.

Situation in the Region

Recall that in June of this year, the Security Service blew up the Crimean Bridge underwater for the third time, using 1,100 kg of explosives. These events highlight the complex situation in the region and the need for additional security measures ahead of the New Year holidays.

The strengthening of security measures at the Crimean Bridge indicates growing concerns among the occupying authorities regarding potential threats in the region, especially in the context of festive events. The ban on electric and hybrid vehicles points to possible technical or security issues that may be related to the bridge's emergency status. These factors, combined with previous incidents, indicate the instability and risks present in this territory.
