Joseph Jones Joins Kryvbas

Ukrainian Premier League side Kryvbas has secured its first signing of the winter transfer window, bringing in Panamanian central defender Joseph Jones. The player has signed a four-year contract with the club and will wear the number 15 shirt. This move highlights the club's intent to strengthen its squad for the second half of the season.

Jones arrives as a free agent after leaving his former club, Plaza Amador. During his time in Panama, he made 51 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. Notably, Jones is set to face the Ukrainian national team with the Panama U-20 squad in a World Cup match scheduled for September 2025.

Kryvbas's Current Standing and Schedule

Kryvbas currently holds fifth place in the 2025/26 Ukrainian Premier League table, having accumulated 26 points from 16 matches. The team is currently in Spain for a training camp that began on January 10th, where they recently lost a friendly match to Danish side Midtjylland by a score of 0:3. Their first competitive match after the winter break is slated for the latter half of February against Metalist 1925.

The acquisition of Joseph Jones underscores Kryvbas's ambition to bolster its defensive line ahead of the season's resumption. Given the club's position in the league standings, the new signing could prove to be a crucial addition in their push for a higher finish. Upcoming fixtures, including the match against Metalist 1925, will provide an early opportunity to assess Jones's impact on the team's performance.
