Heat Restored in Kryvyi Rih After Attack; State Announces Aid for Energy Equipment

Теплопостачання в Кривому Розі відновлено після атаки; влада оголосила про допомогу для енергетичного обладнання.

Heat Supply Restored in Kryvyi Rih Following Strike

Heat has been restored to Kryvyi Rih after an attack on January 28. The damaged buildings have had their supply resumed, as confirmed by Oleksandr Vilkul, who stated:

'Heat supply to the buildings disconnected yesterday due to a ballistic strike has been restored.' Oleksandr Vilkul

However, on the night of January 29, the city came under a new attack by kamikaze drones. A single-story building and two vehicles were damaged, but there were no casualties.

Government Assistance for Purchasing Energy Equipment

As of the evening of January 28, 639 apartment buildings in Kyiv remained without heat. This is a consequence of a massive attack on January 24, 2026, particularly in the Desnianskyi district. In response, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved state aid for the purchase of energy equipment to support those affected by such strikes.

The aid, ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 hryvnias, will be provided to:

  • Homeowners' associations (OSBB)
  • Housing and service cooperatives
  • Managers of apartment buildings

The purpose of this funding is to purchase generators, batteries, inverters, and other energy equipment. Applications for assistance can be submitted online via the 'Diia' platform. This initiative is part of a broader effort to bolster Ukraine's energy resilience against ongoing infrastructure attacks, which have been a persistent feature of the conflict. The aid program aims not just to restore services but to strengthen local communities' long-term capacity to withstand future disruptions.
