Since September 29, restrictions on gasoline sales have been introduced at 'TES' gas stations in Sevastopol due to a surge in demand. This is supposedly to 'accumulate fuel at all gas stations and gradually return to normal operations'. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referencing the official channel of the governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev.
Sales of diesel fuel at TES gas stations in Sevastopol remain unrestricted.
«We hope that thanks to this regime we will be able to accumulate gasoline at all gas stations and return to work according to the usual schedule. Therefore, I once again urge people not to hoard fuel in advance. Gasoline is being delivered to the city non-stop, but due to the rush at gas stations, we are currently unable to return to the planned operating mode», – Razvozhaev noted.
Causes of the fuel crisis in Russia
For more than a month, there have been problems with gasoline at Russian gas stations. The head of the Independent Fuel Union, Pavel Bazhenov, reports that due to a shortage, many gas stations were forced to limit gasoline sales to 10-20 liters per person or temporarily sell only diesel fuel.
Problems have primarily arisen in southern regions, Central Russia, the Volga region, and the Far East, particularly in the Moscow, Ryazan, Leningrad, and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The main reasons cited include seasonal increases in fuel demand due to tourism activity, rising prices for wholesale gasoline batches, planned repairs at oil refineries, as well as the consequences of Ukrainian drone attacks on the Ryazan and Novokuybishevsky refineries.
Restrictions on gasoline sales at gas stations in Sevastopol help manage the rush and accumulate gasoline at all gas stations for a gradual return to normal operating conditions. At the same time, Russia is facing a serious fuel crisis due to various factors, including planned repairs at oil refineries and attacks by Ukrainian drones on extraction enterprises.
