Kudrivka U-19 Names New Head Coach
Alexander Protchenko, 33, has been appointed the new head coach of the Kudrivka U-19 youth team. His debut in the role will be on February 23rd in a match against Luhansk's Zorya U-19. Protchenko previously served as Kudrivka's head coach and, until recently, held the position of the club's technical director. He holds a UEFA A license and has experience working with youth teams, including at Kyiv Arsenal, and served as an assistant coach for Chaika Petropavlivska Borshchahivka.
Protchenko's appointment comes as the team prepares to restart the season second from the bottom in the Youth Team Championship standings. Notably, from 2022 to 2025, Protchenko served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a period that coincided with the ongoing conflict in the region.
League Standings and Other Results
In other youth football news, Lviv's Karpaty suffered a 0:3 defeat to Shakhtar, with substitute Lassina Traore scoring a second-half hat-trick. Meanwhile, Zhytomyr's Polissia secured an away victory in the Kyiv region, defeating Kovalivka's Kolos with goals from Oleksiy Hutsulyak and Ihor Krasnopir.
Protchenko's return to the helm could prove crucial for Kudrivka U-19 as they fight to improve their league position. His familiarity with the club and his coaching background may help elevate the performance of the youth squad. The debut match against Zorya U-19 will be his first major test, and its outcome could significantly influence the team's trajectory for the remainder of the season.
